System 3/4 Bet: Meaning and Example Calculation

A System 3/4 bet consists of 4 selections, forming 4 separate 3-fold accumulators (trebles). To win, at least 3 selections must be correct. The total stake is divided equally among the 4 treble combinations.

Example Calculation

You place a $20 total bet on a System 3/4, meaning $5 per combination.

Scenario 1: All 4 Selections Win

  • All 4 trebles win, giving the maximum payout.
  • Assuming the odds per selection are 2.00, each winning treble pays:
    $5 × 2.00 × 2.00 × 2.00 = $40
  • Total payout: $40 × 4 = $160

Scenario 2: 3 Selections Win

  • With 3 correct picks, 1 treble wins (the one containing all 3 correct selections).
  • Winning payout:
    $5 × 2.00 × 2.00 × 2.00 = $40
  • Since the total stake was $20, this results in a $20 profit.

Scenario 3: Less Than 3 Wins

  • If fewer than 3 selections win, all trebles lose, and you lose the entire $20 stake.
