What is a European Handicap (0:1)?
A European Handicap (0:1) is a type of three-way bet where the underdog is given a one-goal advantage before the match begins. This means that the final result is adjusted by adding one goal to the underdog’s actual score, and the bet is settled accordingly.
How Does a European Handicap (0:1) Work?
In a European Handicap (0:1) scenario:
- The favorite starts with a virtual deficit of 1 goal.
- Or it can be said that the underdog starts with a 1-goal advantage.
- There are three possible betting options:
1️⃣ Handicap 1 (0:1) → You win if the favorite wins by 2 or more goals.
2️⃣ Handicap X (0:1) → You win if the favorite wins by exactly 1 goal.
3️⃣ Handicap 2 (0:1) → You win if the match ends in a draw or the underdog wins.
Example Scenario
Suppose two teams are playing, with Team A as the favorite and Team B as the underdog.
If you place a Handicap 1 (0:1) bet:
✅ Team A must win by 2 or more goals for your bet to succeed.
❌ If Team A wins by only 1 goal, draws, or loses, your bet loses.
If you place a Handicap X (0:1) bet:
✅ Team A must win by exactly 1 goal for your bet to succeed.
❌ If Team A wins by more than 1 goal, draws, or loses, your bet loses.
If you place a Handicap 2 (0:1) bet:
✅ Your bet wins if Team B wins or draws the match.
❌ If Team A wins by 2 or more goals, your bet loses.
