What is a European Handicap (0:2)?
A European Handicap (0:2) is a type of three-way bet where the underdog is given a two-goal advantage before the match begins. The final result is adjusted by adding two goals to the underdogβs actual score, and the bet is settled accordingly.
How Does a European Handicap (0:2) Work?
In a European Handicap (0:2) scenario:
- The favorite starts with a virtual deficit of 2 goals.
- Or it can be said that the underdog starts with a 2-goal advantage.
- There are three possible betting options:
1οΈβ£ Handicap 1 (0:2) β You win if the favorite wins by 3 or more goals.
2οΈβ£ Handicap X (0:2) β You win if the favorite wins by exactly 2 goals.
3οΈβ£ Handicap 2 (0:2) β You win if the underdog loses by less than 2 goals, draws, or wins.
Example Scenario
Suppose two teams are playing, with Team A as the favorite and Team B as the underdog.
If you place a Handicap 1 (0:2) bet:
β Team A must win by 3 or more goals for your bet to succeed.
β If Team A wins by exactly 2 goals, draws, or loses, your bet loses.
If you place a Handicap X (0:2) bet:
β Team A must win by exactly 2 goals for your bet to succeed.
β If Team A wins by more than 2 goals, wins by fewer than 2 goals, draws, or loses, your bet loses.
If you place a Handicap 2 (0:2) bet:
β Your bet wins if Team B loses by less than 2 goals, draws, or wins.
β If Team A wins by exactly 2 or more goals, your bet loses
