What is a European Handicap (0:5)?
A European Handicap (0:5) is a type of three-way bet where the underdog is given a five-goal advantage before the match begins.
How Does a European Handicap (0:5) Work?
In a European Handicap (0:5) scenario:
- The favorite starts with a virtual deficit of 5 goals.
- Or it can be said that the underdog starts with a 5-goal advantage.
- There are three possible betting options:
1️⃣ Handicap 1 (0:5) → You win if the favorite wins by 6 or more goals.
2️⃣ Handicap X (0:5) → You win if the favorite wins by exactly 5 goals.
3️⃣ Handicap 2 (0:5) → You win if the underdog loses by fewer than 5 goals, draws, or wins.
Example Scenario
Suppose two teams are playing, with Team A as the favorite and Team B as the underdog.
If you place a Handicap 1 (0:5) bet:
✅ Team A must win by 6 or more goals for your bet to succeed.
❌ If Team A wins by exactly 5 goals, wins by fewer than 5 goals, draws, or loses, your bet loses.
If you place a Handicap X (0:5) bet:
✅ Team A must win by exactly 5 goals for your bet to succeed.
❌ If Team A wins by more than 5 goals, wins by fewer than 5 goals, draws, or loses, your bet loses.
If you place a Handicap 2 (0:5) bet:
✅ Your bet wins if Team B loses by fewer than 5 goals, draws, or wins.
❌ If Team A wins by exactly 5 or more goals, your bet loses.
