System 2/4 Bet: Meaning and Example Calculation

A System 2/4 bet consists of 4 selections, forming 6 separate 2-fold accumulators (parlays). To win, at least 2 selections must be correct. The total stake is divided equally among the 6 combinations.

Example Calculation

You place a $12 total bet on a System 2/4, meaning $2 per combination.

Scenario 1: All 4 Selections Win

  • All 6 accumulators win, giving the maximum payout.
  • Assuming the odds per selection are 2.00, each winning accumulator pays:
    $2 × 2.00 × 2.00 = $8
  • Total payout: $8 × 6 = $48

Scenario 2: 3 Selections Win

  • With 3 correct picks, 3 accumulators win (each pairing the 3 correct selections).
  • Each winning accumulator pays:
    $2 × 2.00 × 2.00 = $8
  • Total payout: $8 × 3 = $24

Scenario 3: Only 2 Selections Win

  • 1 accumulator wins, while the other 5 lose.
  • Winning payout: $8
  • Since the total stake was $12, this results in a $4 loss.

Scenario 4: Less Than 2 Wins

  • All accumulators lose, and you lose the entire $12 stake.
